Tour the Gardens of Highland Perthshire, in Scotland
Craugroyston House and Lodge, Bed and Breakfast in Pitlochry

June

For those with an interest in things historical, the Perthshire Archaeology Month is an exciting new project. All over the county, talks, walks, and digs are organised to provide opportunities for the public to take part.
Near the black spout waterfall in the oak woods adjacent to Pitlochry, a Bronze Age homestead is being excavated. This is a defensive structure surrounded by a ditch which would have provided security for a small settlement. One of the finds was a small glass bead dating to 500AD. A trench outside the walls may prove to be a souterain, an underground tunnel used as a store and refuge in times of trouble. The county archaeologist remains to be convinced…watch this space.
